The governor of Negros Oriental province within the central Philippines and five others had been fatally shot by unidentified gunmen within the early hours of this morning. The incident marks the latest in a collection of assaults against local officers.
Six suspects carrying rifles and dressed in military-like uniforms entered Governor Roel Degamo’s residence in Pamplona city at about 9.36am and opened hearth, based on local police.
