A violent brawl erupted between three international staff members at a restaurant in the Patong area of Phuket, southern Thailand, and 5 drunk overseas vacationers in the early hours of this morning.
Partygoers notified Patong Police Station that a group of overseas tourists and a group of foreign restaurant staff were attacking one another with chairs at Atlas Restaurant on Soi Sansabai.
By the time police arrived, the 5 tourists had dispersed, however police obtained to hear the staff’s version of events.
No sweat spoke to 3 international employees members at Atlas restaurant involved within the brawl together with Mohammad Jehad Mohammad Alomari of Jordanian nationality, Abderahman Mohammad El Fawal of Egyptian nationality and Wai Lu Soe of unknown nationality.
The staff stated that a group of 5 drunk overseas tourists got here to the restaurant and tried to order meals and stated they needed the meals “quickly.”
According to the employees, the vacationers grew to become displeased when they had been advised they wanted to wait in the queue like everyone else.
The vacationers hurled verbal abuse after which threw a water bottle on the workers, said the workers, leading to an “altercation” which resulted in a physical fight and chair bashing between the two events. After the fight, the vacationers dispersed before police arrived on the scene, said the staff.
In a brief clip circulating online, one man is pictured violently attacking another with a steel pole. It’s not clear if he’s a staff member or a vacationer, or what occurred within the moments prior.
Police took photos on the scene to record the incident and at the second are looking to locate the drunk foreign tourists in the fight so they can interrogate everyone concerned and find out the details.
As of yet, not considered one of the 5 overseas vacationers involved within the brawl have reported anything to the police..
