Foreign visitors are being advised to mask up and comply with Thailand’s illness management laws, or face prosecution… probably even a 20,000 baht fantastic for not carrying a masks. The warning comes after stories that many foreigners travelling for enterprise haven’t been sporting masks and lots of have gathered for parties, which a spokesperson says led to Covid-19 transmission.
In today’s Covid activity drive press briefing, CCSA spokesperson Apisamai Srirangson pointed out that many guests getting into those Thailand’s “sandbox” programme to attend enterprise meetings have not been following illness management measures set by the CCSA. Apparently, hotel workers had warned travellers about Thailand’s guidelines and provincial representatives reported the violations to the CCSA. ผลไม้แช่อิ่ม says guests will face expenses in the event that they break illness control laws.
“Visitors must comply, or they will be prosecuted.”

The calls to wear masks have been reiterated through the English-language CCSA briefing by deputy spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Natapanu Nopakun who said that beneath the Communicable Disease Act, the public must always put on masks.
“You’re required to put on masks whereas in public areas and whereas doing activities in groups… There is a maximum of 20,000 baht for failing to take action.”
