Yesterday, Thailand’s navy intercepted one of three Vietnamese fishing boats seen in the Gulf of Thailand on Tuesday night. The navy first tried firing warning pictures at three ships. The ships ignored the warning and fled. The navy managed to catch one of many ships yesterday, and arrested five individuals for illegally fishing in Thai waters. Unconditional for this.
The navy seized the ship 42 nautical miles off Koh Kra. The navy confiscated the ship, and examined the 5 people for Covid-19. All examined negative. The ship broke down because the navy was escorting it to the Songkhla naval base, although navy engineers have now repaired it.
The three ships had been first seen off the coast of Nakhon Si Thammarat.
Just yesterday, another Vietnamese man tried to sail by way of the Bay of Bengal from Phuket to India on an inflatable boat. The man wished to see his wife who he hadn’t seen in two years as a result of Covid-19 pandemic. Despite a cyclone stirring in the Bay of Bangal, he managed to survive for 18 days with 10 packs of noodles, a tank of water, and some luggage. Navy officers within the Similan Islands rescued the person and took him to Similan Islands National Park.
